Content and Organization
Evaluate the success of your introduction. How did you introduce yourself and state your purpose?
It was a wonderful introduction as I got to ambush the listeners by going straight to my point on what an individual faces in his life. This was a tactful way as it showed the purpose of my speech to the audience.
What was your attention-getter and why do you feel it was effective?
Talking about Goethe attracted the audience as they had to be attentive to hear on what Goethe said about the life of an individual. This was effective as it came at the beginning of the speech hence enabled me to sail with the listeners until the end of the speech. Moreover, it was easier for them to follow the speech and understand.
Did you preview your points? How effective were they in your speech?
Yes I previewed my points; this helped me to remain effective and relevant as I tackled each point after the other. This also enabled me to flow well in my speech and hence passed my message in a simpler manner to the audience. This made my speech effective as I got to tackle each point in the speech.
Explain your use of transitions and their effectiveness in moving your speech.
I constantly used transitional words in my speech like moreover, additionally and many others. This enhanced a smooth flow in my speech which made the audience want to hear more from me. They were very effective as they linked different sentences and paragraphs in the speech.
Evaluate the success of your conclusion.
According to me, the conclusion was superb, simple and clear. It left the audience in suspense as they never expected my speech to come to an end at such a point. Hence this left them with so many questions lingering in their mind.
