One of the ways the company can increase its global market share is by expanding to other countries. However, before investing in other countries, it is important to understand the other countries. For example, the company should research other countries' cultures, traditions, and norms. This process will help the organization's leaders make informed decisions that will guarantee its success. Since the country has been successfully operating in Europe and American continents, the organization is looking to expand to Asian countries. One country that the organization is looking forward to investing in is India. Before knowing the measures to employ in India, it is crucial to check its culture, traditions, and norms.
One of the common work cultures regards colleague relationships. For example, most people are likelier to become friends than Western people (Sen, 2017). This process causes people to have an interaction that exceeds professionalism. There have been many instances where people have been receiving favors from one another. These activities usually cause a friendly environment which can boost productivity. However, most people should be cautious since it is hard to maintain these relationships.
Another norm in India is regarding the timings. In most instances, the Indians do not adhere to timings. This has been the main reason these people have been working for long hours, approximately 10-12 hours a day. There are other instances that they even work on weekends and holidays. However, despite this sacrifice, they usually have long tea and lunch breaks (Krishna, 2019). Moreover, these individuals are not imperative on the deadlines since they always negotiate for extensions of the set timeline (Norvaisate, 2016). There are other instances where some scheduled meetings have been canceled due to the absence of primary persons.
