Question 1: What factors affect children's choice of active games?
Several factors affect children's choice of engaging in active games. These factors include interests and preferences. Children play selective games based on their likes and revolve around team sports, dancing, running, or individual activities. Another factor that affects children's choice of games is physical abilities. Children may choose games they can compete in comfortably without compromising or inadequacy.
Moreover, matters of peer influence contribute to the choice of games for the children. Games that friends or peers enjoy are essential since they can significantly impact game choice, fostering social interactions and camaraderie (Phyllis & Parker, 2012). Lastly, environmental factors and parental influences promote the child's involvement in sports. For environmental factors, when space, equipment, or access to certain games are available, their choices will be influenced. On the other hand, a parent can encourage or influence a child to participate in particular sports by providing the child with needed resources to engage in the sports.
