How to Write a Good Essay on Bullying

  • Outline
  • Some students tend to neglect this step. However, they will find themselves lost without this. They will ramble about illogical and random stuff instead. Therefore, it is vital to keep a more organized flow of ideas in your essay about bullying in school. To make this, you can follow the standard outline. It is composed of an introduction, body paragraphs with main points and supporting details, and a conclusion. Be sure to put more information in your outline because you will refer to them as you draft.

  • Develop a Thesis Statement
  • Formulating a thesis statement for an essay about bullying can be challenging. If you have experienced this firsthand, your experiences might hinder you from being objective. You may use them to make your work more persuasive. But, you must keep an objective stance on this issue as a writer. So, the best way to handle this is to look for possible references first. You can observe how others share their insights without seeming too emotional. Then, you can use them as your inspiration to write a clear thesis statement with three main points.

  • Write the Body
  • In the body paragraphs, you must be able to prove your thesis statement. You can do this by explaining and adding supporting details. They should come from reputable sources, like scholarly papers and journal articles. To gather excellent references, you can use Google Scholar and other online libraries available. Besides, it would be best to look for studies done recently to show more relevant data. If you plan to write an essay on bullying in school, you can look for education-related researches.

However, you have to be careful in working with this theme. Like mentioned earlier, you should be unbiased and tackle this issue without attaching yourself too much. What it means is that you should not put too much emotion into your paper. It should not be your avenue to let out your anger and frustration or make fun of someone else. The bottom line is to focus more on facts and studies and not too much on pathos.

  • Make the Introduction and Conclusion
  • You can start your bullying essay with a personal story, recent study, or shocking news. It would be best to avoid putting insensitive jokes in your hook because they are inappropriate. Afterward, incorporate your thesis statement in the last sentence of the introduction. On the other hand, you can conclude your paper with a restatement of your claim and main points. For an impactful ending, you can share your learning experiences or advice with the reader.

  • Proofread And Edit
  • Even if you feel tired after drafting, do not forget to proofread and edit your work. It is called a draft for a reason. This step is essential so that you can make necessary revisions on minor or major mistakes. To simplify this process, you may use free spelling and grammar checkers online or on your word processor software. By doing this, you will not receive a paper with too many corrections.
