Explain the significance of the thickness of the left ventricular wall.
The left ventricle's thickness allows the wall to contract with greater force and creates the high pressure needed to move blood to all parts of the body (systemic circuit) except the lungs. It also helps to pump blood against higher pressure than the right ventricle. 
The major coronary vessels are on the surface of the heart. What is the advantage of that location?
Epicardial coronary arteries are on the surface of the heart and they distribute blood flow to different regions of the heart muscle. Coronary arteries supply blood to the heart muscle, and the heart muscle needs oxygen-rich blood to function like other tissues. The coronary vessels also carry away the oxygen-depleted blood. The coronary vessels on the heart’ surface ensure there is continuous flow of blood, including when there is higher demand for blood and oxygen demands of active cardiac muscle tissue (Marieb & Smith, 2016). One example is the right marginal artery, which is part of the coronary artery (RCA) that supplies blood to the right ventricle (Marieb & Smith, 2016). The coronary arteries deliver blood to the heart that requires oxygen and nutrients to stay healthy and function. It is more efficient to transport oxygenated blood to the heart muscle, other tissues, and organs when the coronary vessels are on the surface.
