My idea: This proposal is about a documentary I am going to make afterwards, which focuses on the traditional Chinese food that Chinese students in Toronto can make or taste by themselves. The documentary will focus on the background of the food, the preparation process and the taste of the food. Project Rationale: who is the intended audience? what questions/ideas does your project intend to explore? what is the inspiration for your project? what ideas/artists/theorists inform your approach to this project? what do you envisage as the need for this project? What is the project for?

** This is the most important part of your proposal. This is the “ WHY ”part of your proposal. My idea: The target audience is mainly Chinese students or Chinese immigrants who have just arrived in Toronto. The reason for creating this documentary is that family or friends in China often ask me what I eat in Toronto and if I can get Chinese food. Mainly inspired by the documentary "Tongue Tied” (You can also help me find more resources of the same type) The main purpose is to let more people know about Chinese food and to convey the homesickness of international students.

Preliminary Technical Description: what sort of production technologies will you be using? how will you go about producing your project? what sort of presentation strategies will you be pursuing? This is the “ HOW” part of your proposal My Idea: Basic equipment and technical support needed to shoot documentaries.

One of a nation's most significant traditions is its cuisine, which is mostly made with the vast resources available in the country. It not only depicts the lives of its people, but also how they live their generation.
According to Hawkes (2007), the globalization processes are at the foundation of the nutrition shift, which has been linked to the rapid growth of obesity and diet-related chronic illnesses throughout the world. Students today are more prone to obesity because they are more receptive to new experiences.
A documentary is one of the finest methods for people to remember their traditional meal since it is both educational and interesting to watch. This sort of documentary can linger in the minds of viewers for a long time. Documentary films are an in-depth and instructive resource that may be used to start a conversation.
