While it is critical to provide culturally sensitive care to all patients, many have posited that this is not fully achievable unless the workforce is also diverse. HR practices and policies will have a great influence in attracting and retaining talent that is truly representative of the community and our pluralistic society. Reflect on the environment of your current or previous place of employment as you complete this assignment.

Health care organizations have people for example, staff or patients who come from different cultural background. For the hospital to achieve its goal there is the need for it to uphold cultural diversity. When the Human resource manager is dealing with the staff he or she should give equal chances to all people regardless of their cultural background so long as they have the qualifications needed. Cultural diversity helps in creating an environment that will encourage diversity, and also equality (Spector, 2004).Florida hospital of Tampa has a vision of providing all people globally with the pre-eminent health care that is based on faith. The mission of the hospital is extending the healing of Christ. Values involve Excellence, integrity, teamwork, Stewardship and compassion. The mission, values and vision of the hospital enhances cultural diversity; it also ensures that all patients who come to the hospital are given the same level of services without disparity, regardless of their race, age, religion, religion or their disability. Staffs in the hospital are encouraged to treat their patients and colleagues with care and respect without discriminating (Keita & Hurrell, 2004).Senior leadership and board of directors have made efforts in promoting workforce diversity by ensuring that all people are given equal chances without discrimination. All the segments of population should be represented equally.
